Does AW2000 remove images from FTP accounts?

It seems I read somewhere that 2 or 3 weeks after an auction is registered as closed with the item shipped, AW2K is supposed to use information in the datestamp to go into my FTP account and do some cleanup. I thought it was doing that for a while, and I could swear at some point I even saw a setting where I could change the length of time images were supposed to be stored in my account.

But I'll be danged if I can find that setting now, and I've been having to go back and remove images manually in order to make room for new auctions. This is very time consuming since I do a lot of relisting, and I have to verify each image before I delete it.

You'll find the setting under "file" "program options" about 2/3's the way down on the right side of the pop up window - "remove images".

i had this problem the other day, im wondering if anyone ele has or has a fix or solution?

i ran out of my measly 10MB space im currently using and so i reduced the # of days when AW2k removes files from 10 to 5 so it would (i thought) clear some space when i next uploaded an image.

but when i sent the next auction lots it just attempted to upload and when it wasnt allowed (because i was over my limit) it just aborted.

i had to manually remove images and then relist.

thats fine, but then when it did have enough room and did list the auction lots it still didnt remove images that were over the new limit i had set. i reloaded and even rebooted to try to reset but that didnt seem to help either.

is there a way to force the deletion of images? if not there should be, would be a good feature.

thanks!

Running out of web space has gotten your web space out of sync with your database. They can be resynchronized. Here's how:

1. Use an FTP client such as WS_FTP or CuteFTP to connect to your web space.

2. Navigate into the "aw2k" directory.

3. Delete all files named "LotImg###.jpg" and "Tnail###.jpg" (where ### is a number). Be careful not to delete any other files.

4. Delete the file named "datestamp.html".

5. Close your FTP client.

7. Make sure you don't have any Auction Lots with a Status of "Queued For Listing", because that will complicate matters. If you have any Auction Lots with that Status, change it to "Off Line", "Never Listed" or "Hold".

8. Change the Status of all Auction Lots that have a Status of "On Line" to "Queued For Listing". You can change the Status of multiple Auction Lots simultaneously from the Grid View.

9. Initiate the listing process. Proceed through the image upload process. When you reach the listing window, click the Cancel button. Repeat this for each profile until all of your images have been uploaded. Return to the Auction Lots window once all of the images have been uploaded.

10. Change the Status of all of the Auction Lots that are "Queued For Listing" back to "On Line".

11. If you have any websites, update them by selecting Tools | Update Websites... from the menu bar.
