No FTP Account

This is 2 fold since switching carriers:
Have switched from Cox to AT&T U-verse who goes thru Yahoo. Anyways, I am unable to submit auctions because I don't have an ftp. Is there a way to just leave this blank for now until I find someplace to host images and still be able to list on eBay? (Short of copy & paste) I did find a site (www.freeimagehosting.net) that will host my images for free. However, I am uncertain where to put the code in so the images show up.

Hi,

You can enter in your own URL for each individual listing as you list the Auction lot. But that isn't efficient to do.

There are a couple of other options. I use pair.com which costs $5.95 per month for 250 mb of space. Marty uses siteground.com which costs the same. Both are very reliable image hosting services. I will say siteground provides tons of tools for building your own website. Pair.com does not.

You don't have to enter the code if someone is hosting your images. You just need the account settings. AW2K will automatically upload the images to the web space for you and delete unneeded images as well.

Does that help?

First, thank you for quick response. But being on a very limited budget, the $5.95/mo would be hard.

I know that AW2000 will upload the picture as long as I have the settings. However, the site that I have the photo on is one of those that you upload thru their site. If that makes any sense.

You mentioned "entering your own URL". How does one do that and which would one use? Freeimagehosting.com gave me 5 to choose from:

"To insert this image into your webpage or MySpace profile, use this code:

To insert this image into your webpage or MySpace profile, use this code:

If the above code does not work in your forum, try this:

To share this image, please use the following URL:

or To view this image directly, use the following URL:"

Hi,

You will need to change from using a listing template to writing the descriptions in HTML. Place the code in the description field within the HTML. You will find instructions in the "Help" file under HTML code.

There are other image hosting services that are free which will allow an account and use the upload feature. Doesn't AT&T provide you with a limited web space option as part of your package for TV etc..? Most providers do now.

AT&T does provide space for web pages. Will work on setting it up so at least that is one step closer to using AW2000 again.

Thank you for help & info.

Re: No FTP Account new [re: cds2go]

HI,

Excellent! I thought they may after reading through a bit of the information. Be sure and check about over charges. Some web space providers will shut you down if you go over your limit. Others will simply charge you for the overage. You wil want to know how it works so you can keep a handle on the space.

And remember, AW2K manages the images for you, deleting images no longer needed. So if you need to reduce the time frame ended auction images remain on your web space to conserve space, you can change that setting. It is in the "Program Options"
