Combining Store wins

Tonight, a buyer won three eBay Store items. Two were combined on a single Invoice, but the third one is on a separate Invoice (luckily, the buyer emailed me about shipping them together, otherwise I probably wouldn't even have noticed). Should AW have combined them all on the same Invoice? If I can go by the times on the eBay notifications, they all ended within about a minute of each other. I know how to get the third item added to the Invoice, but why didn't AW do this automatically (they were all updated at the same time)?

Sue,

You are saying that you updated all your auction lots and you ended up with two separate invoices for the same buyer? Or you already had an Invoice started for the buyer and the last item didn't group onto the first invoice?

Yes, that's it exactly. I did an Update All and when I generated Invoices (after checking to Combine Buyers or whatever it says), this one buyer's wins were on two separate Invoices, and the Lots are all Store items, all ended tonight. No previous Invoice for this buyer -- only prior contact was an email today asking about combining shipping.

Sue,

That was my next question... Are you certain both options for combing rules are checked on the dialog box? If they are not both checked, then there are certain conditions which would cause buyer's winning bids to be placed on separate Invoices.

Do you change those settings on the "Generate Invoice dialog box?" Or have you changed those settings?

That's it! Two of the items were assigned to a consignor (my daughter), and one was not. I never checked that second box because it never occurred to me such a situation would ever come up. Well Judy, you are still our best AW detective.

Thanks very much, Sue

Sue,

Excellent. I am glad that was the case. Plus it is easy enough to correct.

Hey that is a good thing you are selling multiples of things!!

Re: Combining Store wins new [re: bluepennylady]

Yes, I've already corrected it (checked both boxes). Thanks again.

About selling in multiples: I find that every time I go through the tedious task of relisting a bunch of old items -- usually I'm switching them from auctions to Store (and I usually raise the prices a bit) -- a bunch of things get sold on the first day or two if not within the first hour. Then the rest just sit there for a month. Hard to know which things to give up on (especially when you're selling antiques/collectibles). I think we all hate listing things for the fourth, fifth....tenth (!) times, but it sure is nice to finally have something sell and be able to cover the mounting listing fees. I'm still not sure I make anything over the $16 monthly Store fee, though. I'm not sure I want to know.........

Sue,

Do you use Store referral credits to help offset the store subscription cost?

Haven't got a clue what Store Referral Credits even are, but I'll look into it. Anything that'll help offset the cost.......

Thanks, Sue

Re: Combining Store wins new [re: tictictic_OnEbay]

Sue,

Here is the link at eBay for information concerning the Store referral credits.

http://pages.ebay.com/help/specialtysites/referral-credit-faq.html

Bottom line is if the sale qualifies for store referral credit you get 75% credited back from the FVF. The sale must be generated by a buyer finding your auction from a qualifying off-ebay link. So if the buyer types in your Store URL into their browser and buys something during that browser session, it qualifies. there are rules which apply. But it is definitely worth promoting your eBay store off eBay and providing qualifying links back to your eBay store in everything.
